I am a once and future author, and a strong believer in the act of worshiping God through emulation—in this case creating worlds and personalities that would otherwise never have existed.  I am a professor of American History several universities.  I have written two books so far (on Civil War history) and several articles on a variety of topics.  I enjoy researching and writing on the life of C. S. Lewis, from whom I take much of my philosophical inspiration.  I love the mountains, and the more remote places of the world, where you can feel the deepness of both Creation and human history at once.  More importantly, I am a husband and a father, and I make family a priority.
