Why is the Book so dark?

Why is the book of Nightfall so dark?

I would be hard put to find a way to word that question without it looking like a try at a play on words.  Still, if we set aside what looks like a cheesy attempt at irony, I think the question is valid:  Some of the posts on this blog can be viewed as having content that is outright evil, and sections of that content are virtually dripping with lies, perversions and degradations.  Am I some depressed, pasty-white gothic blood sucker who glories in the darkness?  What would make anyone—myself included—dwell on some of the things this blog discusses?

The answer short and simple:  the Light shines at its brightest in the darkness.  In total night, even the faintest glimmer can be a beacon of hope.  The darkness is not, and never should be, an end in and of itself.

So it is with the world of Khumkato.  It is a world inhabited by realistic people that has been invaded by real evil.  This blog, represented by the travels of Syra’or, is helping me to set the stage.  It shows the real evil that Khumkato faces, it promises what will happen if that evil triumphs, and it sets the stage for the flicker of Truth that will blaze forth in time (in the stories that will follow).
